– EMPRENAUTAS. An Emprenauta is a kid between 9 and 14 years old who experience entrepreneurship training by browsing, imagining, playing and having fun while promoting among them fundamental values in their personal development through learning by doing and smart city concept. The main objective is to stimulate interest in entrepreneurship by developing creativity, manual skills, observation skills and prototype development.

These activities have been carried out with the participation of nearly 20,000 children, youngsters and adults.

In particular the following initiatives are related to the project topic:

MAHATMA LILLIPUT: ARCHITECTURAL WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN is our educational commitment aimed at children from 6-12 years. A new way to share experiences, explore the environment and educating the gaze: playing the will discover more creative ways to see the world around us and imagine new horizons through architecture. By developing creative workshops for children we approach basic concepts to talk about our planet and ways of living. Such bases will prepare them to meet the world architectures, the language of the cities, the characteristics of our cities and the peculiarities of the places where we live. For the team Mahatma LILIPUT the importance of carrying out this project is in the certainty that these and other concepts surrounding architecture enrich the education of children and are not officially included in the schedule of formal education.

Parallel to the study of architecture, we have created MAHATMA SHOWROOM, a creative space for artists of great soul created by Mahatma Architects, a cultural open and participatory meeting point. It is a contemporary place to enjoy and promote art, design, innovation and the development of people’s capacities.

It consists of the following elements:

– ART GALLERY, where various disciplines take place: painting, sculpture, architecture, photography, printmaking, industrial design, furniture, comics, performances, micro-theatre, music … where emerging and established artists share with us their work.

– CREATIVE WORKSHOPS: Creative workshops and participatory experiences of several artistic disciplines. Actions for adults, youngsters and kids to develop their creativity and encourage artistic expression.

– CREATIVE TOYS: Creative Toys and educational material to complement our training offer as well as innovative products selected by Mahatma Architects team.

MAHATMA ARCHITECTS TEAM

– Pablo García Moreno is the Mahatma soul. With an open smile and “granaíno” accent, he decided, a decade ago, to focus his efforts on applying architecture to all aspects of life.

– María Teresa Rodríguez Delgado is the heart of Mahatma. With it, the studio beats in an unstoppable but orderly way. Her taste for details and her serenity brings balance and peace.

– Francisco Javier García Sánchez is the Mahatma engine. His resolution capacity and his technical know-how are combined to guarantee the correct execution of the works and the maximum saving for the client.

– Carlos Capella Rodríguez is the vision of Mahatma. He pursues the essence in each project and tries never to be diluted. He has a special sensitivity that is visible in his designs.

– Rocío Ruiz Romero is the Mahatma vitamin. She supports the different areas complemented according to the current needs, contributing her great accomplishment and effectiveness in the development of the tasks.

– Diego Tomé Merchán is the Mahatma therapist. As a psychologist and pedagogue, he adapts innovative ideas that pass through our heads to turn them into fabulous workshops for all ages.

Our school ensures individual progress in an individual- oriented environment. The pupils are in age 6-12. The main aim of our school is to bring up young people who are self- confident and aware of their possibilities, open to word and other people, able to take on new challenges, as well as think creatively and in a non-standard way. The school focuses on language education, intercultural and interpersonal skills, creative mind-set. Our focus is on educating pupils, so that they become responsible, aware of their behavior and gain skills necessary in their future life. We believe that thanks to international dimension of the project, they could see the word from new perspectives.

The staff includes approx. 25 permanent employees. Currently at our school there are 98 pupils in 9 classes.

The Primary school is open for international pupils – we are the first school in Lodz with bilingual curriculum. We believe that international surrounding is very stimulating for young people. Taking into account importance of cooperation between countries, we put strong emphasis on developing among our students ability to function in diversity of national societies and we are highly motivated to continue this policy by European projects.

Our school consortium has so far been involved in a lot of EU funded projects (LLP, ESF). We have a department responsible for coordination of all project activities and timely delivery of projects’ results.

International Primary School of Innovative Training in Lodz focuses on project-based and pupil-centered approach to teaching. We organize workshops and activities that demand active involvement of all pupils. Moreover, we focus on creativity skills, cross-cultural awareness, language skills and responsibility among our pupils.  The school implemented European Educational Standards (EES) and applies them in educational programs, mainly using workshop and project method. The pupils are prepared to understand the modern word and society. Our focus is to encourage pupils to decision- making, being responsible, to develop their social competences, individual predisposition, learn how to experience, discover and explore the word. Creativeness and open-mindness is stimulated as well.

The school cooperates with other school, universities in the region, public authorities, NGO’s, which permits wider dissemination of the project and impact of the produced results. Our staff is trained in project-based method, creativity workshops, cross-cultural awareness and is open to international cooperation, exchange of experience with peer teacher from European countries and transferring best practices to our schools.

Mrs Julia Banaszkiewicz – Włazińska  – director of the school, experienced manager and participant of Comenius projects, where she coordinated project activities, managed the activities and local level.

Mrs Katarzyna Kuropatwa – teacher of English. Specializes in project based learning.

The staff includes approx. 600 permanent employees: researchers, teachers, trainers, supporting staff (financial, administrative, technical staff), specialists in various areas.

AHE established the Polish Virtual University (www.puw.pl) – an on-line university providing distance learning courses and studies.

The university is an expert in research and analysis; designing of curricula; implementation of courses, e-learning and development of e-learning platforms, tools, materials; dissemination; courses of creativity, self-development, workshops, seminars; EU projects management.

AHE’s project experience includes approximately 200 transnational educational projects completed either as coordinator or partner during the last 10 years (Lifelong Learning Program, Culture, Daphne and other programs). AHE has been also involved in European Social Fund projects and research programs at national and European level.

AHE is part of a European network for dissemination (C-ENTER, www.c.enter-network.eu), which enables us to promote projects on an international level. One of the staff members holds an official title of “C-ENTER promoter” and is responsible for promoting projects’ results on the European level through the network.

AHE’s main strengths include also: easy access to various target groups; network of contacts on regional and national level.

– Autism&Uni is a multinational EU-funded project that helps greater numbers of young adults on the autism spectrum to gain access to Higher Education and to navigate the transition successfully.

– Act your job (Leonardo da Vinci project supporting employment among young people of various backgrounds)

– MIGOBI – Entrepreneurial Spirit in VET and Adult Education

– Dramatic Changes – supporting employment among young people through drama.

– Flame – Family Learning in migrant families (Grundtvig multilater project)

– T-Story – this project intends to promote a wider use of the Storytelling and Digital Storytelling in education and training at all levels

– D-Think – aims of the project is to promote a wider use of Design Thinking as a transversal learning tool by developing and making available an innovative digital course supported on mobile learning for education professionals and professional trainers.

-PAL – This project would capture and track informal collaboration learning shared with peers and identify and celebrate learning champions as an innovative element in the Continuing Professional Development of VET professionals as informal learning is often unacknowledged but is an essential element of lifelong learning.

– iFlip- We like to approach the Flipped Classroom concept with style.

AHE is a university focusing on educational research, innovative teaching methodologies and e-learning. Our key fields of study and research there are: educational science, psychology, entrepreneurship, innovative teaching and learning methods, social exclusion, application of ICT in the teaching process, systems of quality assurance and validation of prior learning. So AHE will contribute scientific expertise to the partnership (designing the study, elaborating research, analysis, researching in Poland and collecting and summarising the findings, design tools).

Kamila Witerska, PhD – Educator, researcher, pedagogue. Specializes in teaching education through drama, theoretical basis of education and creativity training courses. Research interests include drama, stimulating motivation and creative thinking, structure of the class and social influence. Experienced researcher in many EU projects for example: Act Your Job 2012-1-ES1-LEO04-51966 5; Coach4u- Skills for Adult Educators 2013-3805:001-001; Dramatic Changes 2014-2-UK01-KA205-012138.

Kamila Lasocińska, PhD – Assistant professor at Educational Science faculty at AHE. Specialized in the area of creative activity of a human in terms of his autobiographical experiences. Lecturer conducting classes of e.g. creativity pedagogics, creative activities, artistic education. Leads workshops of artistic stimulation and narrative biography. Author of publications dedicated to art therapy. Experienced researcher in many Erasmus+ projects (T-Story – Storytelling Applied to Training, SOLA – Simple Open Learning Advancement).

Elżbieta Dul-Ledwosińska, PhD – Associate Dean at Graphics Faculty at AHE. Specialized in the area of graphic art. Lecturer conducting classes of creativity, creative activities, artistic education. Provide graphic art workshops; Experienced researcher in Erasmus+ projects (D-Think – Design Thinking in Education in Training, CCIC – Creative Communities Igniting Change) As an artist, in her work she explore the classic techniques of artistic printing confronted with the digital technology, leading classes on printmaking and its interfaces with photography, design and digital media.

Amanda Szukalska, MA – She holds a degree in International Relations. Experienced coordinator of European projects and specialist of transnational cooperation, mainly in the education and training sector. Responsible for administration, dissemination and quality of the projects.

Arı Preschool (3 – 5 year-olds) has 300, Private Arı Elementary School (6 – 10 years olds) has 600, Private Arı Secondary School (11 – 14 years olds) has 700 and Private Arı High Schools (15 – 18 years olds) have 600 students and total 2500 students with   237 teachers.

At Arı Schools, based on individual differences and adopting a project-based approach to instruction, students are provided with rich learning environments that support their cognitive and social development, innovative training programs and broad technological possibilities structured in line with the needs of the 21st century student. Students are encouraged not only to develop academic habits, but also to personal development, to contribute to their skill-based development and to be successful in art and sports.

Our aim is to raise inquisitive, creative, self-reliant, happy, healthy and self-disciplined individuals that adopt both national and international values. We respect human rights, have a sense of social welfare, and are sensitive to environmental problems. The students are being educated as individual who know how to locate information, how to benefit from the information they get, can use the technology effectively, who think and question, who can take responsibility, are entrepreneurs, are open to communicate, are creative, use scientific methodology.  For this aim, students are encouraged to participate in the projects in Math, Science, Technology, Arts etc.  Every year science fair is organised from kindergarten to high school. Besides, STEM activities are implemented as club activities for ages 7 – 16 years old.  Moreover, in 2017 – 2018 educational year, STEM activities have been integrated into curriculum from kindergarten to high school, therefore, in 2016 – 2017 educational year,   teachers training have been implemented to prepare teachers for STEM.

The main activity areas are the planning and elaboration of projects for the development of human resources, which integrate innovation and European dimension, are based on dynamic partnerships and pursue synergy and quality in results. The activity sectors are:

• Implementation of training programs.
• Training material – training modules development.
• Elaboration of researches and studies (training need analysis, market researches) related to the needs of the labour market
• Planning and development of international European projects related with the local development, employment and social cohesion.

ECTE applies System of Management according to model EN ISO 9001: 2008, as well as the modern integrated resource management system, the Αrgus ERP. Concerning the methodology of the training programs are followed organization and training methods oriented towards the user, dynamic determination of phases and procedures of the programs on the basis of the development of appropriate technologies and users participation, combination and synergy theory and practice in educational programs, feedback and continuous evaluation of the programs and diffusion of the produced results in interested people and conveyors.

ECTE provides high-quality vocational education and training services and at the same time participates actively in the development and implementation of European Programs and Community Initiatives. Main part of educational programs that ECTE are targeted at teachers and trainers strengthening the profile of teaching profession and enhancing the quality of education. In addition, provides comprehensive monitoring, evaluation and services related to dissemination activities, of the work and products carried out during the implementation of the EU programs.

The European programs that ECTE is involved in are aiming at the exchange of experience and expertise on training, up skilling trainers, through the identification of innovative training methods and training material development.

Training of trainers department of ECTE is providing training to teachers of primary and secondary level of education. A short term professional development is administered within Crete region. ECTE is every year is implementing a series of workshops subjected on science teaching entitled “Making Science attractive”. Additionally, along with the General Director of Education in Crete is organising international conference in Crete about science teaching. Dr. Kalathaki, advisor for science teachers of secondary education, is coordinating the workshops and training activities for “teaching sciences” has graduate degree in physics teaching.

ECTE thanks to the participation in many European projects has gained experience in developing and implementing dissemination strategies, and provide guidelines and support to all partners for all dissemination actions during the duration of the projects. They are now involved in two KA2 strategic partnerships, for which they are also managing the dissemination activities. Last four years, ECTE has been in charge of dissemination strategy implementation, monitoring and guiding all actions are carried out according to the plan and measuring their impact on the defined target groups.

Through the development and implementation of training programs, ECTE members of staff are particularly familiar with the development of the content of training programs and of their pedagogical materials. Through their participation in projects financed by the European Union, ECTE members of staff have also gained considerable experience in the evaluation and dissemination of project results.

Dr Konstantinos Androulakis is an Economist and General Director. He has extensive experience in National Training Programs and in several European funded projects. He holds an Msc in economics. As part of his studies and also during his professional activity, he has undertaken extensive research and studies on various social and professional subjects. He has good IT skills and a good command of English. He has extensive experience in Coordination, technical management, financial management, monitoring and evaluation of projects involving European and International organizations. Coordination of international meetings.

Director of training courses addressed to qualified professionals in the following topics: Promotion of innovation and creativity / Project development and writing / Project technical and financial management / European and international programs for private and public funding.

Dr Maria Kalathaki, is trainer for science teachers of secondary education in west Crete. She holds a phd in Marine Biology and a master in modern tendencies in the didactics of biological counces and new technologies. She is Member of organizational and Scientific Committees, also Chairwoman, of many Educational Conferences.

Mrs. Eleni Liakou is a psychologist, certified family therapist and an Adult certified Training Director. She has extensive experience in National Training Programs and in several European funded projects. She holds a Bachelor in Psychology, a Master in Bioethics and specialisation in the interdisciplinary study of systems in general.  As part of her studies and also during her professional activity, she has undertaken extensive research and studies on various social and professional subjects. She has good IT skills and a good command of English. Moreover, Mrs Elemi Liakou has an extensive experience in implementation of mobility programs through her professional experience as mobility programs coordinator in ECTE.

Mrs Katerina Diamanti, is a physicist, holding an MSc in environment. She is specializing on sustainable energy systems and environmental issues. She coordinates EU projects that, in the fields of her specialization. The last three years is managing the GSS projects (green energy installations) and works for the development of relevant curriculum and training materials

Mr Georgios Sarchosis, is an economist (School of Economics and Business, university of Athens ASSOE), He is coordinating dissemination activities in all European programs ECTE is involved.

It hosts 282 students ageing from seven years old twelve and 34 teachers.

It is a typical Greek school that follows a tight and intense curriculum that is extensively focused in the teaching of literature, grammar and sciences.

The school has no experience or participation in European programs / actions relating to science teaching, however in close collaboration with Technological Institute of Crete (research institute) the school is implementation the program “making science attractive” which includes many activities like one day scientist, for the children “working” and following experiments in the higher education institutes.

The staff/teachers that will be involved in this application and are:

– Christos Anesiadis, civil engineer, BA Department of Primary Education, Master in Political Science.

– Peraki Maria: Deputy 6th Primary School, Academy of Pedagogical Degree Heraklion (BA), Department of Primary Education, Diploma Teaching Rethymnon, specializing in theatrical play “Philippaki School”.

– Ioakimidis Pantelis: teacher, BA Department of Primary Education, Master of education, Phd in School Drama: The theatrical education in day school , academic teaching courses on theater therapy (Theatrical game Kouklothetro, Shadow Theater, Improvisation, Pantomime) participation in various European programs, Lower Cambridge University.

–  Maraki Maria: English teacher, Bachelor in Arts, “English with Italian” (APU), Master of Science: Teaching English as a Foreign Language and Computer Assisted Language Learning, Proficiency of Cambridge, Zertifikat in Deutsch, extensive experience in management and implementation of students’ mobility programs.

The partner group is going to be composed by teachers from the following Departments:

Also the members of English Department are going to help us in this project.

Also more teachers of our Secondary School who are very interested in learning new methodology. Approximate 12 teachers will be implicated in the project.

Some teachers of this project have been learning STEM methodology during last years.

Natalia de Lucas has attended to Scientix Congress, participated in several events to promote science.

She has attended to APEA´s biannual Congress (Association of Astronomy Methodology), JAEM biannual Congress (Meetings of Learning Math), DDD annual Congress (Science Divulgation Association).

She has won several Science competitions with her pupils:

– CEA (‘Ciencia en Acción’), six times,

– ‘Finde Científico en Alcobendas’ (FECYT), twice and

– ‘Utiliza Matemáticas’(Alcala University) with the work ‘Math in the Simpson Cartoon’

She uses new STEM methodology in her classes at school and also out of school teaching other teachers.

Natalia has been member of the Spanish Delegacy in the Picnic Warsaw (Poland) in 2014 and also member of Erasmus + Program in IES Carmen Burgos de Seguí (Alovera) ‘A Garden without borders’.

Pedro Gil and Conchi Monje have attended the course ‘Programming and Robotics in Arduino boards’.

Both teach the subjects ‘Programming and Robotics’ and ‘Technology’.

Dr Mark Deakin is Professor of Built Environment in the School of Engineering & the Built Environment and Head of the Centre for Smart Cities at the Institute for Sustainable Construction at Edinburgh Napier University. Since 2007 he has been in the unique position of holding two National Research Council grants awarded by the ESRC and EPSRC for LfWWs and SURegen respectively and since being awarded the EC INTERREG contract, known as SmartCities in 2008, these 3 projects have secured a total of £9.0 million. The University’s share of the grant funding generated from these 3 contracts is £1.0million. These achievements have allowed him to play a major role in orchestrating both of the School’s very successful submissions to the Architecture, Built Environment and Planning section of the REF Assessment. The first two (RAE) submissions achieved a 3b rating for the School. The third (RAE 2009) and fourth (REF 2014) obtained a World Class/International Excellence rating (50% for REF 2014). In 2012 he secured the 3 year CLUE Project from the INTERREG fund and in May 2016, he began work as a lead partner on a 2 year, H2020 project that aims to develop a platform for EU regions to develop their research and innovation strategies.

Mr Alasdair Reid joined Edinburgh Napier University in 2008 as a researcher in the Centre for Smart Cities (formerly the Centre for Sustainable Communities) specialising in sustainable urban development. He has since been involved in several high profile research projects (SURegen, CLUE, EXPGOV, Smart Accelerator, Online S3) and his research activities have culminated in the publication of several academic papers, books and online literature. The quality of his research was recognised by his inclusion in the University’s REF2016 submission within Unit of Assessment (UoA) 16: Architecture, Built Environment and Planning. Alasdair is also a lecturer in property valuation within the School of Built Environment at Edinburgh Napier University. Alasdair holds a first class honours degree in Estate Management (RICS accredited) and a Master’s degree in City Planning and Regeneration (RTPI accredited).

AHE is part of a European network for dissemination (C-ENTER, www.c.enter-network.eu), which enables us to promote projects on an international level. One of the staff members holds an official title of “C-ENTER promoter” and is responsible for promoting projects’ results on the European level through the network.

AHE’s main strengths include also: easy access to various target groups; network of contacts on regional and national level.

– Autism&Uni is a multinational EU-funded project that helps greater numbers of young adults on the autism spectrum to gain access to Higher Education and to navigate the transition successfully.

– Act your job (Leonardo da Vinci project supporting employment among young people of various backgrounds)

– MIGOBI – Entrepreneurial Spirit in VET and Adult Education

– Dramatic Changes – supporting employment among young people through drama.

– Flame – Family Learning in migrant families (Grundtvig multilater project)

– T-Story – this project intends to promote a wider use of the Storytelling and Digital Storytelling in education and training at all levels

– D-Think – aims of the project is to promote a wider use of Design Thinking as a transversal learning tool by developing and making available an innovative digital course supported on mobile learning for education professionals and professional trainers.

-PAL – This project would capture and track informal collaboration learning shared with peers and identify and celebrate learning champions as an innovative element in the Continuing Professional Development of VET professionals as informal learning is often unacknowledged but is an essential element of lifelong learning.

– iFlip- We like to approach the Flipped Classroom concept with style.

AHE is a university focusing on educational research, innovative teaching methodologies and e-learning. Our key fields of study and research there are: educational science, psychology, entrepreneurship, innovative teaching and learning methods, social exclusion, application of ICT in the teaching process, systems of quality assurance and validation of prior learning. So AHE will contribute scientific expertise to the partnership (designing the study, elaborating research, analysis, researching in Poland and collecting and summarising the findings, design tools).

Kamila Witerska, PhD – Educator, researcher, pedagogue. Specializes in teaching education through drama, theoretical basis of education and creativity training courses. Research interests include drama, stimulating motivation and creative thinking, structure of the class and social influence. Kamila Lasocińska, PhD – Assistant professor at Educational Science faculty at AHE. Specialized in the area of creative activity of a human in terms of his autobiographical experiences. Lecturer conducting classes of e.g. creativity pedagogics, creative activities, artistic education. Leads workshops of artistic stimulation and narrative biography. Author of publications dedicated to art therapy. Experienced researcher in many Erasmus+ projects (T-Story – Storytelling Applied to Training, SOLA – Simple Open Learning Advancement).

Elżbieta Dul-Ledwosińska, PhD – Associate Dean at Graphics Faculty at AHE. Specialized in the area of graphic art. Lecturer conducting classes of creativity, creative activities, artistic education. Provide graphic art workshops; Experienced researcher in Erasmus+ projects (D-Think – Design Thinking in Education in Training, CCIC – Creative Communities Igniting Change) As an artist, in her work she explore the classic techniques of artistic printing confronted with the digital technology, leading classes on printmaking and its interfaces with photography, design and digital media.

Amanda Szukalska, MA – She holds a degree in International Relations. Experienced coordinator of European projects and specialist of transnational cooperation, mainly in the education and training sector. Responsible for administration, dissemination and quality of the projects.
